Motorbike holidays
San Vigilio di Marebbe surroundings are the ideal destination for Italy motorbike holidays from April till October, as this Italy mountain resort is located near the most famous and panoramic Dolomites passes: the Falzarego Pass, the Gardena Pass, the Campolongo Pass, the Sella Pass. It’s possible to organize a motorbike trip towards Val Pusteria or Cortina d’Ampezzo; it’s also possible to organize a motorbike trip to Bressanone, in the opposite direction. San Vigilio di Marebbe is a good starting point for many motorbikes hiking trips and a good meeting point for bikers; an important event is for example the “Dolomites Harley Ride. South Tyrol motorbike holidays always give a sensation of freedom, but it’s better not to “cut” curves and to respect speed limits.
San Vigilio Dolomites
One of the most classic Italy motorbike holidays itinerary is the Dolomites tour in Sesto and in the central Dolomites, which goes from San Vigilio di Marebbe towards Cortina d’Ampezzo, to return to San Vigilio. The distance is of 220km; from San Vigilio, one reaches the Furcia Pass, whose altitude is of 1737 meters, reaching the Val Pusteria mountain resort of Valdaora. From Valdaora, one rides along the SS 49 reaching Sesto; from Sesto, one reaches the Monte Croce di Comelico, whose height is of 1638 meters. Then it’s possible to continue till Padola and there you take the SS 532 till the Sant’Antonio Pass, following the indications towards San Nicolò and Dosoledo; afterwards, take the SS48, characterized by many tight curves, till Auronzo. After Auronzo, you continue till the Tre Croci Pass, located at 1809 meters of altitude towards Cortina d’Ampezzo. Here you can enjoy wonderful Dolomites panoramas on the Tofane, Croda del Lago, the Cristallo and Sorapis mountain massif. Leaving from Cortina d’Ampezzo, it’s possible to drive towards the Falzarego pass, following the Valparola indications. Afterwards, you reach San Cassiano, to go back to San Vigilio di Marebbe.
